2004 NYSTEA Regional Technology Teacher of the Year Award

Mr. Zdrojewski began his teaching career at Amherst Middle in September of 2001.  He enjoys introducing students to Structural Engineering, Robotics, and Communication Technologies.  His area of expertise is Digital Video/TV Production, and has been accepted as a professional member of both the Adobe Educational Leaders and Adobe Community Experts Programs.  As a result, Mr. Zdrojewski is invited to present the AMS Tech TV program at conferences and deliver workshops nationwide.

His students experience firsthand the creative and technical sides to digital video production through classroom video projects and innovative "student internship" opportunities during our student-run daily live morning news shows.  Click HERE to watch our morning shows.

In April of 2004 he was awarded a Regional Technology Teacher of the Year Award from the New York State Technology Education Association (NYSTEA) at their annual conference.

In December 2007, Mr. Zdrojewski was awarded a "2007 Most Innovative Educator" honor, by T.H.E. Journal Magazine.

In January 2005 and again in January 2007 he had received $2,500 Best Buy Teach grants, which was used to expand the school's Technology TV Program.  Mr. Zdrojewski voluntarily invested over 1,000 hours of construction time during evenings, weekends and summer vacations to build a unique two room TV studio facility within his classroom.  As a result, Amherst Middle school was the first pioneer school in the world with a custom teacher designed and built "Green/Blue screen" TV studio facility using Adobe's Visual Communicator software technology.  View the AMS Tech TV website at AmherstTechTV.org
