Amherst Middle Technology Education
Our current program features six unique rotations of Technology, in which students rotate through a different Technology classroom every 7 weeks during their 20 week Technology course in 7th and 8th grade. Students experience hands-on, relevant and meaningful instruction in seventh grade with our Introduction to Electronics, Structural Engineering, Desktop Publishing, Hydraulic Systems, and Manufacturing and Production Systems courses. In eighth grade, students experience Design Engineering and Manufacturing, Robotic Engineering, Digital Video Production, and Intro to Drawing/AutoCAD. Each activity based rotation is taught by NYS certified Technology Educators and offers students a chance to design, construct, and evaluate various areas of technology in order to develop technological literacy as part of their comprehensive K-12 education. From wood chips to computer chips, Amherst Middle Technology Education truly is “Where learning comes ALIVE!"
