Volunteer Opportunities:
Amherst Town Clerk's Office The Amherst Town Clerk's Office has ongoing opportunities for students to satisfy their Government Studies requirement or any other outside volunteer requirements. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and they are located at 5583 Main Street, Williamsville, NY. The students can choose the dates and times they wish to volunteer. AIDS Community Services of WNY ACS is involved in a number of local summer activities and they are looking for energetic, positive and simply fun in the sun individuals for their huge volunteer recruitment needs. They are looking for volunteers for the day to day operations of their client services in areas such as on the main switchboard operating a multi line phone system, in EVERGREEN Health Services to assist with medical records filing. They are also looking for Personal Grocery Shoppers to assist their clients and a multitude of other services. For more information you may call 847-0340 ext. 335.
Northgate Health Care Facility Volunteer Opportunities at Northgate are designed for students 12 years of age and older. You can work in the Activity Department, Therapy/Transportation Department or do something that is special to you - playing an instrument, singing, reading aloud or visiting with the residents. All volunteers will receive a general orientation, guidance with activities and a letter of recommendation for their academic files. Northgate is located at 7264 Nash Road, Nor. Tonawanda. Volunteer Opportunity for Juniors & Seniors Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County are looking for volunteers. As a Big Brother or Big Sister you will have an opportunity to mentor a child who is dealing with issues at home and school. The friendship you will build with your Little Brother or Sister during the school year will make a Big difference in their life and in yours too!
1. One day per week. You select the day & time.
2. Share planned educational & recreational activities with a child.
3. A BBBS Site Coordinator will be present at each visit.
4. Great volunteer opportunity to do with a friend.
