Nurse Lisa Tagliarino and Priscilla Crickard are the new Garden Club leaders.
They'll be looking for help with those court yard weeds soon!
The WBS Garden Club is being lead by Priscilla Crickard and Lisa Tagliarino (aka Nurse Lisa). We are lucky to also have the expertise of a local gardener named Carol Ann Ogle who has already dug in and collected soil samples for analysis. She intends to teach us how to get started with our own compost pile soon too!
The garden is currently over run with weeds of all shapes and sizes. If you have any interest in helping develop this area of our landscape, please contact the Garden Club leaders.
The Garden Club will meet May 18, 19, 25, 26 and June 1, 2, 8, and 9. Meeting time is from 3 to 4pm.
Also, they are in great NEED of GARDEN TOOLS! If you've got any extra trowels, shovels, clippers or any other tools that will help turn over the soil, dig up weeds, cut back the growth, plant new beauty... please donate it to WBS. Please, use good common sense when deciding how to get those items to the school. Garden tools can be sharp.
Windermere 2008/2009 Garden Club They have been busy making the Courtyard beautiful. The pictures below show them hard at work!!
The courtyard is still in need of renovations, planting, and care giving. Mrs. Maxick and Mrs. Treichler hope to continue with the garden club next year. Their goals are to maintain the courtyard over the summer to hopefully keep it alive so in September it will start out successful. They are also planning on bringing the pond back to life and will continue planting and evolving the courtyard. The PTA has generously offered to purchase a shed to keep in the courtyard so that we will be able to keep all the garden supplies that were purchased this year and any other future purchases for courtyard usage.
If you are interested in helping the garden club contact Mrs. Maxick or Mrs. Treichler today!
