As an Adobe Education Leader, Mr. Zdrojewski invited to present the AMS Tech TV Program at FETC 2008 in Orlando, Florida. Amherst Middle is the first school nationwide to have fully developed a school TV program exclusively using Adobe’s Visual Communicator program
December 2007 Mr. Zdrojewski published in T.H.E. Journal Educational Technology Magazine as one of their 2007 Most Innovative Educators for the Amherst Middle Tech TV Program. Summer July-August 2007 Summer Tech TV courses taught by Mr. Zdrojewski, through Amherst Community Education Program. Students and educators from WNY districts introduced to Adobe's Visual Communicator program. June 2007 Studica Skills awards five Amherst Middle 8th graders over $4,000 worth of software and $800 cash prizes for achieving the top 3 places for Season 2 Visual Communicator Nationwide Competition. School-Video-News.com publishes article featuring AMS Tech TV. May 2007 Adobe press release announcing Visual Communicator 3, includes featured school TV program Amherst Tech TV. Mr. Zdrojewski presents Amherst Tech TV Program’s use of Visual Communicator at ETC 2007 at Erie 1 BOCES, Buffalo NY, sponsored by the Educational Computing Dept. at Buffalo State College. April 2007 Local NBC station WGRZ broadcasts Kids 2 Day Segment. February 2007 Mr. Zdrojewski awarded a second $2,500 Best Buy Grant, written to further expand upon the previous Jan 2005 Best Buy Grant, to fund hardware and electronics equipment for TV studio. January 2007 As an Adobe Education Leader, Mr. Zdrojewski invited to present the AMS Tech TV Program at FETC 2007 in Orlando, Florida. Studica Skills awards 8th grader Griffin Kramer $300 worth of video production software for his project entered in the Season 2 Visual Communicator Competition. December 2006 Amherst Bee newspaper publishes a feature news story about our unique Tech TV Program. Studica Skills awards 8th grader Will M. $300 worth of video production software for his project entered in the Season 2 Visual Communicator Competition. November 2006 Tech TV morning shows now viewable from our website as streaming web video. Mr. Zdrojewski secured educational grant funding, thus accomplished at no cost to the school district. Only a few schools across the country utilize streaming video technology for their school news broadcasts. Adobe Systems, Inc. acquires the Serious Magic company, and accepts Mr. Zdrojewski into their elite Adobe Education Leaders Program. October 2006 Construction is complete! Mr. Zdrojewski completes the construction of the new green/blue screen Tech TV studios, the first of it’s kind in a school setting. Facility is now ready for students to fully utilize for live daily morning shows, and 8th grade Tech class projects. View construction progress pictures HERE. June 2006 Amherst Record newspaper publishes article regarding growth of the Amherst Middle Tech TV program, and information about the new Video Production summer course offering for students. April 2006
Serious Magic begins a Teachers Lounge section on their online user forums, where Mr. Zdrojewski serves as a moderator by offering advice and answering questions. November 2005 Amherst PTSA accepts grant application. $250 is awarded to purchase specialty TV-grade greenscreen, used for placing people in virtual sets using Ultra chromakeying software. Amherst Record publishes article regarding Best Buy 2005 Grant award. Serious Magic names Mr. Zdrojewski as their first "Featured Teacher" on their educational website. Summer July-August 2005 Major portion of demolition and new walls constructed over the summer by Mr. Zdrojewski himself. At end of summer, insulation, drywall and window/door installation nearing completion. View construction progress pictures HERE. June 2005 Mr. Zdrojewski proposes plans for new 2nd generation TV studio facility, built around the capabilities of Visual Communicator. He voluntary begins construction project of the current 2-Room TV Studio. March 2005 Carniville Musical DVD production. To accompany Amherst Drama club's own original musical production of Carniville, a 2-disc DVD set was produced. The "Making of a Musical" documentary included many greenscreened interview shots of students by using Visual Communicator and Ultra software, along with slideshows and promo commercials for district website. View them HERE. January 2005 Mr. Zdrojewski awarded $2,500 Best Buy Grant, written to purchase updated hardware for TV studio. December 2004 Serious Magic publishes feature article about Amherst Tech TV on their website, resulting in schools nationwide following our progress using Visual Communicator for student video projects and morning shows. November 2004 TV Studio remodeling Project (1st generation). See pictures HERE. Mr. Zdrojewski converts office space into mini TV studio room, complete with green wall for chromakeying. Students begin to create pre-recorded video projects for broadcasting on Morning Show. April 2004 Mr. Zdrojewski awarded 2004 Regional Technology Teacher of the Year Award by the NYS Technology Education Association (NYSTEA) for developing Amherst Tech TV Video Production Program.
