2023 Update: Our Bald for Bucks team raised over $13,000 to support the patient-care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

2022 Update: 20 participants helped raise over $12,500 for Roswell Park.

Since 2015, Amherst Middle School has held a Bald For Bucks fundraising event to support the patient-care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. To date, including the 2023 fundraising total, Amherst Middle School has raised over $159,000 to support Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. 2023 marks the ninth year Amherst Middle School has held a Bald For Bucks fundraising event to support the patient-care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

In 2020, we were not able to hold a school-wide assembly to celebrate our fundraising efforts. Instead, our participants filmed themselves at home shaving, clipping, and styling their way to raising over $22,000!  Each year we are humbled by the dedication our students and teachers show to this very worthy cause.

In 2021, the pandemic again curtailed our plans for a school-wide assembly. Participants recorded themselves at home while they snip, clip, shave, and style their way to a cancer-free reality. Watch the 2021 Bald for Bucks video. In 2021, the team raised $10,040.

Staff and students that volunteer for Goin’ Bald for Bucks raise money by soliciting donations from sponsors, friends and family.
