    Satisfies graduation requirement in Science


    This course is designed to stimulate interest in the marine environment.  Consequently, students will apply knowledge from several science disciplines to the study of the Earth and oceans.  Topics include diving and underwater exploration; how oceans are currently studied; the topography of ocean floors; relationships between temperature, salinity and density; characteristics of ocean waves, tides, and currents; marine plants; animal life of the sea, and the sea’s relationship to ecology.
