GLOBAL HISTORY II (R, H)
Prerequisite: Global History I
Satisfies graduation requirement in Social Studies
This course is the culmination of a two-year sequence in which the student will be exploring the world since 1750. The student will demonstrate an understanding of how historical and current global/regional/national trends and issues are influenced by ideas, individuals, groups, and institutions. Students will be using primary/secondary sources, maps, graphs, and political cartoons for historical analysis, including chronology and the relationship between causes and effects. Course work involves reading, writing, and research. Research papers, Document-Based Questions from AP exams, and essay exams are common assignments. The course culminates with the NYS Global Regents Exam.
