    Satisfies graduation requirement in Social Studies


    Students will demonstrate an understanding and relevance of the development of democratic values in U.S. history, the impact of national and ethnic groups on American culture, and the causes and results of major events.  Students will use critical thinking skills to analyze historical documents and express both historical and personal viewpoints.  Emphasis will be placed on the use of maps, charts, news accounts, and other primary sources. The course culminates with the US History Regents Exam.
