Amherst Central High School’s Information Center, formerly referred to as the Library, contains state-of-the-art electronic information. All staff and students may access eBooks and databases from home by using passwords the Information Center provides. Library skills reinforcement and development are an integral part of every student’s program of studies at Amherst. The librarian and classroom teachers plan closely together to design and support inter-disciplinary projects and research assignments. Presentations made in the classroom by teachers are enhanced with presentations in the Information Center by the Librarian. The final assessment of library skills is also integrated into the projects and papers students produce in the form of materials incorporated into their assignments, such as reference lists, quotes and bibliographies. The Information Center, along with its Computer Center, is open from 8:10 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. Monday through Friday.
