  • Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo Scholarship: Apply Today to be considered for up to $6000. for college. Requirements are permanent resident of WNY with a minimum 2.0 GPA or "C" average and accepted to any non-profit college/university in the US, full-time. Applications due by April 1, 2020.

    The Charles and Jean Engasser Memorial Foundation $2000. Scholarship: The charles and Jean Engasser Memorial Foundation $2000. scholarship has no prerequisites in terms of grade point average. They are looking for a resume and a thoughtful essay, one that is less a description of accomplishments, but more a personal statement of your values and goals.     The American Legion Scholarship: The Past National commander Michael J. Kogutek American Legion Scholarship Trust will award two $1,500 scholarships to students/veterans attending college in 2020.This scholarship is intended to assist 8th district New York State Veterans, their families, and patriotic students who share the ideas

    Erie County Fair Scholarship: The Erie County Fair Scholarships seeks students who are enrolled or enrolling  in a college or university. These students must have participated in the Erie County Fair in some capacity in order to be eligible. Participation includes, but is not limited to, employment, exhibition, volunteering, marching band, or other performances. Five, $1,000 scholarships are available in 2020. Deadline is April 10, 2020.

    Erie County Agricultural Society Scholarship:  The ECASS is limited to students who are pursuing an agriculture related career.Students must be enrolled or enrolling in a college or universityand must be able to describe how their field of study will help them in their agricultural endeavors. These scholarships will award students $25,000. Deadline to apply is April 10, 2020.

    Buffalo Urban League Scholarship Program 2020:  The Buffalo Urban League provides scholarships to assist individuals attending college, ranging from one time awards of $250.00 to four year awards of up to $4000.     The Character Council $1000 Scholarship: Harvest Time Partners, in collaboration with The Character Council of WNY, is pleased to award $1000 cash scholarship to high-school seniors who exemplify character in their daily lives and who will be attending a college of trade school post-graducation.     Federated Garden Clubs of New York State: A $1,000. stipend will be awarded to a graduating high school senior residing in Erie and Niagara County. Applicant must be planning to major in one of the following areas of study; Agriculture, Botany, Conservation, Environmental Science, Forestry, Horticulture and more.     NYS Society of Professional Engineers: The Li S. Liu, P.E. Memorial Scholarship and the Richard Wohler, P.E. Memorial/Hutch-Tech High School Scholarship are $1,000 scholarships given annually to a high school senior from WNY who are accepted into an accredited engineering program. Deadline for submission is March 20, 2020.

    Gerard J. Buckenmeyer FASNY Volunteer Scholarship: This $1,500 scholarship allows young firefighters to continue their post-secondary education. The application is available online with a due date of March 15, 2020.

    Association of Italian American Women Scholarship: The Association of Italian American Women will award at least three scholarships this year. This scholarship is open to a young women of Italian descent who has been accepted into an accredited college or university. For more information and to apply, visit our website.     Peter P. Tycz II Memorial Scholarship: Chapter 77 of the Vietnam Veterans of America is proud to offer the Peter P. Tycz II Memorial Scholarship of $250. to a graduating senior who has a relative who is/was a veteran (Reservists who have completed 180 continuous days of service) and are planning enrollment in an accredited program of higher education beginning in the fall of 2020. Sergent Tycz was a US Army Green Beret who died in the line of duty in Paktika Province Afghanistan in 2002. The chapter has chosen to honor this Tonawanda native because  of his local ties, involvement in the community, his devotion to his family and country and exemplary military service. The deadline is May 1, 2020.

    Cristin Ann Bambino, Paul Jensen, amd Joseph Goncalves Student Humanitarian Scholarship: The Board of Trustees of the New York Schools Insurance Foundation are pleased to announce that they are offering the following scholarships once again in 2020. The criteria for each scholarship can be found on this website. These scholarships are for college bound students. Applications should be received on or before Friday, March 27, 2020. The overall winner for each scholarship is $5,000. and the runner up will be awarded $3,000.

    Locher, Cosgrove and Blachowski $1000 Memorial Scholarship: These scholarships worth $1,000 each are in memory of thoses who served in various positions for the Erie County Fire District Officers Assoc. Looking for a high school senior who has exemplified community involvement in the county of Erie. Preference will be given to students who assist in the emergnecy services and are matriculating in the Emerhgency Service fields of Fire or EMS. Deadline to apply is February 28, 2020.

    The Engineering Society of Buffalo, Inc.: The Engineering Society of Buffalo, Inc. is pleased to announce we are now accepting applications for this year's scholarships. Please share the application and requirements with your students who are pursuing an ABET accredited program in engineering or technology and appluing to SUNY at Buffalo, Buffalo State College, or Erie Community College.     Quest Bridge College Prep Scholars: The 2020 College Prep Scholars Program application opens in early February. To be considered for the awards and opportunities for College Prep Scholars-including a full scholarship to a college summer program-submit a free, online College Prep Scholars Program application.

    Jolly Boys of Williamsville Community Service Scholarship Committee: All college bound high school seniors who reside within the Town of Amherst are eligible to apply. This scholarship is for Community Service minded students! All Jolly Boys CSI Scholarship winners will be selected and notified of award amounts individually by mail. The award will be sent directly to the college only upon receipt of proof of enrollment from the college. Deadline is March 7, 2020.

     WNY Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors: The WNY Assoc. of Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors is pleased to announce its annual scholarship program worth $2000. and is designed for students entering a course of study related to the plumbing, heating and cooling industry.     The XI Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority: is sponsoring a $1,500. scholarship to one Wester New York High School Senior student who is accepted into a HBCU College(Historically Black College or University) and will be enrolling into the 2020-21 school year.     The 2020 Ned Carter Memorial Scholarship: You must be related to a firefighter or be one. To be considered for this honor, applications must be submitted online or postmarked by Saturday, February 22, 2020.

    WJA Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is available for supporting freshmen students majoring in engineering. We invite you or someone you know to take advantage of this $1,500 scholarship opportunity. The application deadline is April 30, 2020.

    2019 Law Scholarship: This scholarship is judged & awarded primarily on merit and need. Completed application must be submitted online by July 31, 2020. Late applications will not be accepted.

    Scholarships for Students with Disabilities: Eligibility for this award is limited to high-achieving students, minimun 3.25 GPA, that were diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss before the age of four.  Applicants primary mode of communication must be spoken language and listening. In addition, eligible students must be attending an accredited university, enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program. Due date to apply is March 2, 2020.

    Excelsior Scholarship Program:  More than 940,000 middle-class families across New York State will be eligible for the Excelsior Scholarship. In order to apply, students must:

    • Be residents of New York State
    • Plan to attend a SUNY or CUNY two - or- four year degree program
    • Take 30 credits per year and make progress towards graduation
    • Maintain good academic standing
    • Be on track to graduate on time with an Associate's Degree in two years or a Bachelor's Degree in four years.
    • The program goes into effect immediately and is available for students whose families earn up to $100,000 annually.

    Private Scholarships are monies granted to students by pondering organizations, companies, or clubs, which do not need to be repaid. Generally, scholarships are reserved for students with special qualifications, such as academic, athletic or artistic talent. Awards are also available for students who are interested in particular fields of study, who are members of underrepresented groups, who live in certain areas of the country or who demonstrate financial need.
