Students residing within ACSD limits,who attend private, parochial or charter schools are now required to register with the district annually prior to April 1, OR within 30 days of moving into the district, in order to receive transportation, school-based services and update student information on file.

Residents of Amherst Central School District who require transportation to a private, parochial or charter school within 15 miles of 55 Kings Highway Amherst, NY 14226 can register through the                     

Family Connection Portal.

Once (re)registered successfully, you are able to indicate your need for transportation and you will receive an email from Central Registration confirming that your account is active and your documents are being (re)verified by Central Registration.

You must register/verify before transportation requests can be completed.

Please note: If it is after April 1, 2023, you may still complete the registration process and request transportation;
Accommodations for late registration and/or transportation requests will be made whenever possible. However, transportation cannot be guaranteed after the deadline.  
Registration document review times will be delayed and approval is not guaranteed.

CURRENT STUDENTS
If you have an ASPEN account

1. Log in to your Family Connection account or via ASPEN to update information for a current student or to complete yearly registration for an existing student.
Documents must be resubmitted yearly and reflect residency proof within the last 3 months.  
2. Follow steps 2-5 below

NEW STUDENTS

1. Create account

2. Log into Family Connection with your username and password. Select “register new student” and complete the online registration process. This may take 15-20 minutes to complete. You may save the form and return to the registration at any time by selecting the “save and return to home” button at the top of the page.
The following information will need to be completed: 

• Student Information
• Proof of Student Age
• Student Race and Ethnicity
• Residency Questionnaire
• 2 Proofs of Residency
• Parents/guardians Contact Information

3. Upload all required documentation: proof of residency- 2 required, proof of student age, emergency contact information.
4. Submit registration for approval by ACSD. If you do not submit, the registration will not be sent to Amherst Central Schools. Upon receipt of all documentation, ACSD will contact you regarding your child’s registration/transportation.

5. Repeat this process for each child     

How To Upload Documents:     

From a Computer: Select the upload button then locate the file you would like to upload. If the document has already been saved to your computer, the document will be in a folder on your desktop. Once the document has been located, select it and choose open. This will upload the document.

From a Phone: Select the upload button in the application and choose the location where your document is saved. You can choose a document already saved or choose to take a picture of the document. Once you locate it, select the document and it will upload.
