Coach's Corner - Modified

  • Volleyball About Amherst Girls Modified Volleyball

The modified volleyball season is one in which individual skills, participation, teamwork, commitment and improvement are emphasized.  The team commitment requires student athletes to attend 5-6 games or practices a week, keep up with their school work, and represent Amherst well with proper behavior, effort and sportsmanship in school and on the court.
The girls modified volleyball season requires stamina and fitness. You should begin to work on your fitness and skills this summer by working out on your own and attending the volleyball sessions at camps around the area. Potential volleyball camps were handed out at the informational meeting.
The season also requires commitment, we will practice daily after school until 5:30. There will be 2-3 game days a week, which may be home or away.  At times, on away games, we will not arrive home until 7:30. There is no weekend commitment and the season runs from the first week of school until the last week of October.
We also require that you be a properly behaved student who gives 100% in the classroom and on the court!
