2022-23 Budget & Election Results
Many thanks to our wonderful community for passing our 2022-23 budget with an 86.5% approval rating. Results for Proposition I: Budget of $68,300,000 passed - Yes, 449; No, 70. Elected Board Members: Two candidates receiving the largest number of votes to be elected for three-year terms - Lorry Goldhawk, 446; Dominic Vivolo, 449.The 2022-23 annual budget vote and election for the Amherst Central School District will be held on May 17, 2022 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Amherst Central High School south gym, 4301 Main St., Amherst.The budget hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on May 3, 2022, followed by the Regular Board of Education Business Meeting. The meeting location is at the District office board room.
Absentee ballots are available for the Amherst Central School District vote. The completed ballot must be received by the District Clerk by 5 p.m. on May 17, the day of the vote. A qualified voter in the district may use an absentee ballot if, on voting day, he or she is a patient in a hospital or unable to appear personally because of illness or physical disability; is required to be outside the country because of duties, occupation or studies; is on vacation outside the country; or is detained in jail awaiting action conviction of an offense other than a felony. To qualify as a voter, a person must be:
- a citizen of the United States
- at least 18 years old
- a resident of Amherst Central School District for at least 30 days prior to the vote.(Education Law § 2012)
Apartment dwellers who meet these qualifications are eligible. No prior registration is required and residents do not have to be registered voters. (Education Law § 2012)

The two candidates with the most votes will be elected to a three-year term, July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2025.

Budget Public Hearing - May 3, 2022
The Amherst Central School District Board of Education will again conduct an exit survey to gain insight into the priorities and concerns of residents. Voters are encouraged to take a moment to complete a survey after they have submitted their ballots at the budget vote and election on May 17.
