Founded in 1933, Amherst Central High School has a proud tradition of excellence in academics, arts, and athletics dating back to its founding in 1933.
Located in Amherst, New York, our high school serves the mature communities of Snyder and Eggertsville, both with deep roots in Western New York and storied historical backgrounds. For decades, being situated between the University of Buffalo's South and North Campus, Amherst has been a diverse community with an international flavor and strong values rooted in learning.
Amherst provides a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum serving more than 800 students in grades 9-12. Amherst is a high performing school, enjoying very strong high school graduation rates and two- and four-year college placements. Our school prides itself on providing a very balanced curriculum with strong emphasis on academic rigor, artistic training, personal wellness, and character development.
