Ceramics I - Hand Building

    Ceramics I is an introductory course working with clay that focuses on hand building techniques.  In this class, students will learn about the origins of clay, its historical significance, the firing process and methods of forming and shaping clay by hand.  Design concepts will be applied through hand building techniques in order for students to produce a collection of ceramic work that is both functional and sculptural.  This class will take place in ACHS’s newly renovated Ceramics Studio giving students the opportunity to be the first to take advantage of these new facilities.
