Community Education

The Amherst Central School District offers Community Education programs for youth. There is no residency requirement to participate in a community education session and  the programs are open to all families in WNY.

Registration for summer programs begins in late April. We also offer programs in the fall and winter.  If you would like to be notified about upcoming programs (and are not am Amherst CSD parent), please join our Mailing List.

Programs

Fall 2024 Boys & Girls Future Tigers Basketball - Grades K-6
Mondays: Sept. 30, Oct. 7
Tuesdays: Oct. 15, 22, 29
Grades K-2 program  is from 6-7 p.m.
Grades 3-6 program is from 7-8 p.m.

Open Wrestling Fall 2024 - Grades K-12 - Mondays & Wednesdays
There is no fee for this class - it is free for students with wrestling experience. The Open Gym sessions are for students in grades 1-12 with previous experience in wrestling. To participate in Open Gym sessions, wrestlers must have completed one of the following -- either a community education wrestling youth program or participation in a modified, JV or varsity wrestling team. These sessions build off prior experience.

  • Mondays from 6-7:30 p.m. -  Sept. 23, 30; Oct. 7, 21, 28; Nov. 4 (No session Oct. 14, 2024 - Columbus Day Holiday) 
  • Wednesdays from 3:30-5 p.m. -  Sept. 18, 25; Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; Nov. 6

Currently the Amherst Central School District's Community Education program offers sports camps for students in grades 1 - 12. We would like to gauge interest from the community regarding future programming for adults. We have developed an Amherst CSD Community Education Interest Survey to gather feedback.
