Substitute & Jobs Expo - Aug. 12

The Amherst Central School District will hold a Substitute & Jobs Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026 at Amherst Central High School. We are seeking qualified candidates for the 2026-27 school year for a variety of positions at all grade levels at all buildings. We seek candidates who are hard-working and enthusiastic to join our team.

New Substitute Teacher Rates

Effective as of July 14, 2026, new higher substitute rates are in effect:

  • Uncertified substitute, $130/day
  • Certified substitute, $150/day
  • Certified building-based substitute, $160/day
  • Long term substitute teacher (working 21-89 days), $170/day
  • Long term substitute teacher (working 90+ days), eligible for step payment
