The Amherst Central School District Music Department curriculum features Band, Choral/General Music, Orchestral, and Music Theory programs with many award-winning performance ensembles. In addition to a variety of course offerings during the school year, the Amherst Central School District Music Department offers many extra-curricular music and drama clubs and activities.
 

The Amherst Central School District Music Department adheres to National and New York State curricular standards and is committed to introducing its students to technology and a broad range of musical experiences. At all levels, our ensembles have won numerous awards and continue to win them year after year. In recognition of outstanding achievement and our ongoing commitment and access to quality music education, the Amherst Central School District has been selected by the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Foundation as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in the United States continuously since 2017.
