Community Service & Internship
Community Service and Internship opportunities occur at various times throughout the school year. Please check back often. Please be aware that the ACHS Community Service Requirement of 20 hours must be completed in order to participate in our ACHS graduation on June 29, 2019.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County: are looking for volunteers who are juniors or seniors. As a Big Brother or Big Sister, you will have an opportunity to mentor a child who is dealing with issues at home and school. The friendship you will build with your little brother or sister during the scAmherst Community Church is offering community service hours to Amherst students through their child care program. The ACC is located next to the high school on Washington Dr. If you are interested, stop by the church and ask for Andrea, Coordinator of the Child Care program.
2022-23 Danceability Volunteer Registration: We are looking for volunteers to assist our dancers with special needs one on one under the direction of our instructors, who are physical therapists, social workers, special ed teachers and counselors. If you are looking for a fum way to earn your community service hours, fill out the form. Classes start September 20th and volunteers must be 16yrs of age.
VolunteerMatch: If you are looking for ways to volunteer in the Buffalo area and earn your 20 hours of community service, these opportunities are available.
Amherst Tiger's Den Food Pantry: Volunteer at Tiger's Den Food Pantry and earn community service hours. Volunteer tasks include helping clients shop for food, sorting food, checking for expiration dates, restocking and sorting. The hours available are the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month and if there's a 5th Thursday, that also would be available.
