Girls Lacrosse

  • Girls lacrosse player Jill Martin

    Jill has been a member of the Amherst Girls Lacrosse program for the past three years. She has been a member of the Amherst Girls Varsity Lacrosse team for the past two years. She plays the offensive midfield position, scoring four goals and collecting two ground balls to contribute to her team’s success.

     

Boys Lacrosse

  • Boys lacrosse player Hakem Saeed

    Hakem has been a member of the Amherst Lacrosse program for the past six years. As a long stick midfielder and defender, he has been a significant contributing member of the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team for the past three years. Throughout his Amherst Lacrosse career, Hakem has been awarded the Defensive MIP, honored with the Captain's Award, and recognized as an All-ECIC player. His notable Amherst Lacrosse achievements also include playing in the playoffs both his sophomore and junior year while fasting for Ramadan. His favorite lacrosse memory is beating West Seneca East in the semi-finals and scoring a goal in that game. Hakem plans to attend the University of Illinois in the fall where he will study Pre-Med and represent Amherst as a member of their lacrosse team.

Girls Lacrosse

  • Girls Lacrosse player Maddy Buisch

    Maddy has been a member of the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team for the past two years. As the starting goaltender, she was an integral component of her team’s success. Maddy made significant statistical contributions facing 132 shots on goal and making 56 saves for an impressive 7.8 goals against average. She will attend Agnes Scott College in the fall.

Boys Lacrosse

  • Boys Lacrosse player Max Rosen

    Max has been a member of the Amherst Lacrosse program for the past five years. He has been a successful starting defender for the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team for the past three years. His strong play and significant statistical contributions throughout his junior season earned him 2nd Team All Section VI and 1st Team All-Class C recognition and honors. Max will be attending Ohio Northern University in the fall where he will represent Amherst as a member of their lacrosse team.

Cross-Country

  • Track and Field Kayleigh Aquino

    Kayleigh has been a member of the Amherst Varsity Cross-Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field teams through four years at Amherst Central High School. She was a member of the incredibly successful 4x800 relay team that set the new school record. Kayleigh was awarded the Most Improved Cross-Country Runner for her significant growth and progress. Her favorite Track & Field memory is going to states with her 4x8 relay team. She will be attending Hobart & William Smithe College in the fall and will represent Amherst as a member of their Cross-Country team.

Boys Lacrosse

    Ryan has been a member of the Amherst Lacrosse program since seventh grade. He has been a significiant contributor on the Amherst Varsity Lacrosse lineup since his sophomore year. Ryan plays attack for the team and scored an impressive 26 goals in the 2019 season. He earned All-League Honorable Mention for his strong play throughout the 2019 season. He will be attending SUNY Cortland in the fall where he will represent Amherst as a member of their football team.

Girls Lacrosse

  • Girls lacrosse player Sophie Smith

    Sophie has been a member of the Amherst Girls Lacrosse program since seventh grade. This season is her third as a member of the varsity lacrosse team. Sophie plays the defensive midfield position and successfully contributed 1 goal, 3 assists and an impressive 26 ground balls for her team. She plans on attending Dayton College in the fall.

Softball

    Emma is a member of the Varsity Softball team and has been a member of the Amherst softball program for several years. She plans on attending the University at Buffalo in the fall as a biochemistry major with a Spanish minor. Emma also plans on representing Amherst Athletics as a member of the UB Club Softball team.

Boys Lacrosse

  • Student lacrosse player Jack Faller

    Jack has been a member of the Amherst Lacrosse program since seventh grade. He has been a successful starter for the varsity lacrosse team for the past three years. Jack has made significant statistical contributions for his team throughout the past two seasons tallying 51 goals and 31 assists for an impressive 82 point total.

    Jack plans on attending Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario in the fall where he will study electrical and computer engineering as well as represent Amherst as a member of the lacrosse team.

Girls Lacrosse

  • Student lacrosse player Leigh Moeser

    Leigh has been a member of the Amherst Girls Lacrosse program since seventh grade. This season is Leigh's third season as a member of the Varsity team. Leigh plans the attack position and successfully contributed three goals, eight assists and 13 ground balls for her team.

    Next year, Leigh will attend SUNY Geneseo and will represent Amhert by playing on both the Club Lacrosse and Club Soccer teams.

Baseball, Ice Hockey

  • Spring Senior Spotlight

    Ryan Stark

    This is Ryan's fourth year as a member of the Amherst baseball program and second year on the varsity baseball team. He received the Coaches Award as a member of the Amherst JV baseball team. Ryan plays first base position and has been playing baseball on travel teams since he was seven years old.

    He was also a member of the Amherst varsity ice hockey team for the past four years and served as the captain of the team this past year. As a member of the varsity ice hockey team, Ryan was recognized as a Division IV All-Star Honorable Mention as well as a Scholar Athlete.

    He is a member of the National Honor Society and will attend Niagara University to study nursing. He will also represent Amherst on Niagara's club hockey team.

Track & Field

  • Girl jumps steeple chase Alana Reynolds

    Alana has run Varsity Cross-Country and Track & Field throughout all 4 years at Amherst High School. 
    This season would have been her 4th year as a member of the Track & Field team and she was really looking forward to leading the warm-ups.

    Alana’s favorite Track & Field event to compete in is the Steeple Chase (pictured). In the fall, Alana will attend St. Bonaventure where she will represent Amherst by running on their Cross-Country and Track & Field team.
