Board of Education

The Amherst Central School District board of education is a seven-member board elected at-large by residents of the school district.  Broadly, the board creates a shared vision for the future of education by setting policies and developing annual budgets. They are not involved in operating the District, but are kept informed on district goals and strategic plans. School boards are volunteers within the community who dedicate their time to better public education. They are elected to staggered three-year terms. Board president, vice president and committee assignments are made at the annual reorganization meeting each July.  Comments to the Board can be received by calling the District Clerk.
