Central Registration

Register for School - Registration Starts Online

The process of registering a child for Amherst Central School District begins online.  Registration is complete when the online registration has been submitted and the required documentation has been verified at a scheduled in-person meeting.  If you are unable to register online, please contact the Central Registration Clerk.

Residency Requirements for Enrollment: You must live within the school district boundaries and provide proof of residency to attend Amherst CSD schools. If you are unsure whether your residence falls within the district boundaries, please verify that you live in the district.

In-person meetings are by appointment only. You will be contacted by Central Registration once online registration is complete.

Families who live in the ACSD district with children attending a private, parochial or charter school must register annually prior to April 1 or within 30 days of moving into district. 

Required Documents

Two Proofs of Current Residency: The first proof of residency MUST be a mortgage statement, deed, property tax bill or lease.
The second proof of residency can be one of the following:  pay stub, income tax form, utility or other bill, official driver's license, learner's permit or non-driver identification, or state/other government issued identification. 

One Proof of Student Age:  Birth certificate, record of baptism or passport.
The district may consider other documentation as acceptable proof of age if birth certificate, record of baptism or passport is not available. 

Picture Identification of Parent/Guardian: Valid driver's license, non-driver ID card, passport or other photo identification.

Current Immunization Records: Within 14 days of the first day of school, children must receive the first age-appropriate dose in each immunization series to attend or remain in school. Every student entering or attending school is required to provide proof of immunization in accordance with the provisions of Public Health Law 2164.
New York State School Immunization Requirements

NYS Physical within the last 12 months: New York State law requires a health examination for ALL students entering the school district for the first time.  These examinations may be completed up to one year to the month before your child begins as an exam is valid for a full year through the last day of the month in which the exam was conducted.

Dental Exam Form: A dental certificate which states your child has been seen by a dentist or dental hygienist should be submitted for ALL students entering the school district for the first time.
