Freezing Polar Plunge Raises $5,411 for Special Olympics

A team of students and staff braved the freezing waters of Lake Erie to support the Amherst Unified Tigers team as we participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge on Dec. 6, 2024. With the snow and chilly conditions, it was our most challenging plunge yet!
With generous support from the community, the ACHS Polar Plunge team raised $5,411 for Special Olympic athletes all over New York. Special Olympics supports our Amherst Unified sports teams as well.
Members of our YAC Unified Club work throughout the year to spread and strengthen the message of inclusion in our school community. We are looking forward to the Polar plunge next year already, and are hoping to have even more members of our Amherst Family join us in experiencing #Plungenation.
