Liam Colvin Earns Second Place in Skills USA Contest in Exercise Science

Amherst High School junior Liam Colvin joined nearly 100 Erie 1 BOCES students to compete at the Area 1 SkillsUSA Regional Competition on March 3, 2026, at Alfred State College.

Countless hours of practice and preparation paid off as Colvin took second place in the Exercise Science competition!

SkillsUSA students hone their hands-on skills against current industry standards in more than 100 occupational areas, from 3D Animation to Welding and nearly everything in between. At the same time, they develop transformative career-readiness skills like teamwork, communication, professionalism, and leadership, fueling career and life success.

Top regional competitors will now compete against the best of the best from around the state in Syracuse in April, aiming to earn a gold medal and a spot at the national competition in June.

Colvin’s recognition speaks volumes about his hard work, determination, and abilities in the skills honed at Erie 1 BOCES. We are proud to recognize this accomplishment and invite you to join us in celebrating this significant milestone.
