Student Takes First Place in Virtual Junior Achievement Career Fair

STudentEvery Career & Financial Management student went to the Junior Achievement Virtual Career Fair on March 11. The fair was full of employers, schools, and organizations in the area. The students had a great time "visiting" the different organizations and asking them questions. The virtual interface made you feel like you were actually at a convention center with exhibit halls, an auditorium, help desk, and more. Students from all over Western New York participated in this day-long virtual experience.

Prizes were awarded to students who interacted the most with the vendors. Amherst took first place with Gavin Planavsky winning the most points for interactivity in the fair. Junior Achievement of Western New York has awarded Gavin with a pair of tickets to Darien Lake Theme Park.

The Amherst CHS business department has partnered with Junior Achievement of WNY on many exciting projects. In April, all of our CFM students will participate in their semi-annual Stock Market Challenge.
