Trades Fair Showcases Career Opportunities for Students
High school students interested in careers in the trades had the opportunity to visit with nearly 30 trades representatives at the ACHS Trades Fair on Wednesday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Organized through the high school business department, the goal of the event was to create student awareness about the many opportunities for careers as an electrician, operating engineer, EMT/Paramedic, nurse, painter, ironworker, auto mechanic, CNC machinist, Executive Chef, Pastry Chef, and more.
Nearly 30 agencies were present including several local unions, Alfred State, SUNY Erie, Erie 1 BOCES, New York State Police, Twin City Ambulance, Northland Workforce Training Center, Basil Family Dealerships, Universal Technical Institute. They presented employment outlooks and the education or training experience required for various positions.
