All Feelings are Welcome on SEL Wall Display

All feelings welcomeA wall in the rotunda at Smallwood Drive Elementary features artwork with a very special message of “All Feelings are Welcome Here.” The new SEL Wall has illustrations of 12 different emotions and feelings that staff and students might experience on a daily basis. The illustrations show facial expressions for emotions such as sad, angry, shy, sad, scared.

Materials for the social-emotional learning wall were funded through a MS/HS PTSA grant to purchase the picture frames and the vinyl lettering.

The rotunda location is perfect for the display as students and staff pass through many times each day.

This display highlights the importance and value that Smallwood places on social-emotional learning. By displaying the posters along with the statement “All Feelings Are Welcome Here” students, faculty and families will take steps towards normalizing and accepting the importance of recognizing and honoring different feelings.
