Competing in Tech Wars, AMS Teams Earn Awards
Three of the Amherst Middle School teams competing in the middle school division of Tech Wars competition at ECC South earned first, second and third place awards. Tech Wars is a competition involving many local middle and high schools competing in various technology and engineering related events. Sixteen students are in the AMS Tech Club which meets after school and is coached by William Schupp, technology and engineering teacher. The students worked extremely hard over many months to get their projects ready in time for competition and their hard work paid off.
First place for Middle School Mousetrap Cars was Brody Marino. Second place for Middle School Mousetrap Cars was Tamer Mahamud, Mushfiq Bari, Nahiyan Shafy, and Andalib Islam. Third place for the Middle School Onsite Engineering Problem Solving Challenge was Warid Hossain and Henry Kaczmarczyk.
Other students involved were Oliver Olsen, Jack Maloney, Evan Schobert, Max Szumski, Laith Taher, Lyan Taher, Arnav Dabadi, Donovan Teague, and Charlie Maxwell.
