Hosting a Classroom Music Workshop for Area Educators
The Erie County Music Educators Association held its 26th annual Classroom Music Workshop at Windermere Boulevard. Each year four local music teachers are invited to bring a music class to the stage to showcase a vocal/general music lesson for an audience of Erie and Niagara county music educators and student participant's family members.
This year's workshop featured Kim Harrison with her sixth-graders from Cheektowaga Central Middle School, Julie Furlong with first-graders from Smallwood Drive School, Kary Dobbs with fourth-graders from Maple Avenue Elementary in Niagara Falls and Holly Hudson with secondary students from the International Preparatory School at Grover #198 in the Buffalo Public School District.
Patricia Hills and.Ada Wolfanger, both ACSD elementary music teachers, co-chaired the event along with James DesJardins of Frontier CSD. This was the first year the workshop has ever been held at Windermere Boulevard School. The entire workshop will be available to watch in November 2018 via the ECMEA website.
