Section VI Recognizes Amherst Athletics with the Sportsmanship Promotion Survey Award
The athletics program at Amherst Central School District was recognized by Section VI with the Sportsmanship Promotion Survey Award during a Section VI Athletic Council meeting. The Sportsmanship Promotion Survey is designed to assess how schools are promoting positive sportsmanship within their athletic departments by establishing policies and procedures that promote positive sportsmanship. The award is presented to schools which have developed proactive approaches in keeping sportsmanship in the forefront with their students, coaches, spectators, and communities. The award was accepted by Jeffrey Wheaton, director of health, PE and athletics, and Greg Pigeon, Amherst Central High School principal.
