Amherst scholar athletes earned a 2020-21 Scholar-Athlete School of Excellence award from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) which honors teams and individuals that excel in the classroom and deserve to be recognized for their academic success.

At the end of each sports season, NYSPHSAA recognizes teams with a scholar athlete award. To receive team recognition with a certificate, the team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90% GPA. Amherst Athletics had 24 teams qualify during the 2020-21 school year.
