Amherst Concert Chorale to Perform with Camerata di Sant’ Antonio Chamber Orchestra
The Amherst Central High School Concert Chorale will perform alongside Buffalo’s Camerata di Sant’ Antonio Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m.
Dubbed “Northern Lights,” the concert will feature works by several Scandinavian-born composers. The event is supported by the NYS Council on the Arts, the County of Erie and the Cullen Foundation and will be held at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church at 1035 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, New York.
Amherst students will be featured on two songs over the course of the evening: Ola Gielo’s “Song of the Universal” and Eriks Ensevalds’ “Stars.” The Concert Chorale’s performance of “Stars” will also see students utilize pitched wine glasses.
In addition to the performances by the Amherst Concert Chorale, Camerata di Sant’ Antonio Chamber Orchestra will also perform Jean Sibelius’ “Humoresque Op.89 No.3,” Wiren’s “Serenade for Strings” and Henriques’ “Suite for Oboes and Strings.”
Tickets for the concert are available at the door for $20. Anyone under the age of 17 is welcome to attend for free.
